Former Federal President takes part of the Condolence Ceremony
Following the death of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz former federal president Christian Wulff participated in a condolence ceremony on 24 January 2015 and extended on behalf of the German Federal Republic and the German people his condolences to the custodian of the two holy mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz.
Saudi Arabia: A key role player in the region
Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier visited from 12th to 13th October Jeddah. In the port city on the Red Sea, he met with his Saudi counterpart Prince Saud al-Faisal and Crown Prince Salman. In addition, Steinmeier met representatives of civil society and the secretary general of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Iyad Amin Madani. Steinmeier held talks on the situation in the Middle East and the threat of the terrorist militia ISIS.
Ambassador Ruge handed over his credentials to King Abdullah
The German Ambassador Boris Ruge presented his credentials to King Abdallah bin Abdulaziz during the official handover ceremony for recently arrived ambassadors to the Kingdom.

Your Majesty, Following the death of His Majesty King Abdallah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, permit me to offer my sincerest condolences to you, your family and the entire people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
On behalf of the German government, I have extended our heartfelt condolences to the Royal family and the people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The passing of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah is a great loss not just for the kingdom but for the region as a whole and the international community.
